The Palos Orland Swim Association would like to invite swimmers residing in High School District 230’s Carl Sandburg area to register for the 2008 Winter swim season.  The season will officially begin on September 15th for all new and returning POSA swimmers .  The season will continue throughout the winter months until the final conference championship meet in mid February.

           + 5th Swimmer - $385.00                         $2015.00

Additional fees all families are required to pay:
     $150.00 Volunteer/Fundraiser commitment fee (Refundable if commitment is met)
       $10.00 Concession Fee

Each Swimmer is required to pay:
       $60.00 Illinois Swimming, Inc registration and includes USA Swimming Card.
                  This is mandatory and provides insurance and athlete registration for your child
                  or children in the Illinois Swimming Incorporated data base.
       All swimmers must have USA Swimming Card and are renewable for all swimmers in the
       winter season.

 

 

*   Parent Volunteer and Fundraiser Commitment (Must Do Both)

 

  1. Volunteer Commitment


          Winter Season - 3 times per child, maximum of 6 times per family
       Summer Season - 2 times per child, maximum of 4 times per family

                                    AND in addition.....

       If POSA is forced to HOST the DIVISION CONFERENCE MEET in February
                 
    all Families will be require to do 1 volunteer position for that event

    • Parent Volunteer Sign-up Night will be posted when all meets are decided upon:
      -     Winter Season - around the end of September beginning of October
      -  Summer Season - around the end of April beginning of May

    • Volunteer job descriptions (Click Here)  and will be available at the night of sign-up

  2. Fundraiser Commitment: Minimum of $70.00 in sales (7 Tubs) in the POSA sponsored cookier dough fundraiser.

    • Forms will be available at the pool on the Kick off date: October 1st

    • Forms due back to any board member by October 22nd

    •  Delivery of Fundraiser Products will be on November 22nd

Dual Swim Meets

The POSA will participate in approximately 5-6 dual swim meets during the Winter swim season.  A dual meet is when POSA swims against one other team in our conference division.  These meets are held during the week, in the evening, in place of a regular practice.  All swimmers are eligible to participate in a dual meet at no extra charge by signing up for them the week prior to the scheduled dual meet. The dual swim meet schedule will be posted on the POSA website and the pool bulletin board when it becomes available during the month of October.

ISI Swim Meets

POSA will participate in the following ISI meets during the Summer swim season. ISI swim meets offer swimmers a chance to compete at many different venues around the Chicago area, and swim against many other teams. In an ISI meet event, your swimmer(s) competes with swimmers of their same age and ability. ISI swim meets have a non-refundable participation fee of $12 per day payable when registering for that particular meet.

By continuing through the registration process you understand that all information you enter is to be of the truth. Falsifying any information will result swimmer ejection from team with possible expulsion from ISI. If any discrepancies occur, families will be asked to provide current address proof (ex.: utility bill) and swimmer's original birth certificate. All waivers must be accepted and are legally binding.

*  Payments may be made in full at the time of online registration or via check September 15th through September 30th. Fees will include a $150.00 volunteer/fundraiser commitment fee deposit that will be refunded at the end of the season, only if the volunteer/fundraiser commitment has been met, including the Conference volunteer time, if necessary.

POSA is offering a payment plan option (only if you pay via Credit/Debit Card or echeck).
   
   Initial Deposit:         $150.00  Volunteer/Fundraiser commitment fee
                                     +   $10.00  Concession Fee
                                     +   $60.00  USA Swimming Card per swimmer
                                     +   33.34% of the TOTAL swim fees.

POSA will then bill remaining balance in 2 equal payments on Nov 1st and Dec 15th to the credit/debit card or echeck entered unless payment is made prior to dates indicated above.


                Example for 2 swimmers: Total fees are $1110.00

A printed confirmation emailed registration receipt with either the balance paid in full, deposit payment plan or a check/cash for the full balance, must be handed to the coaches or a Board member when the swimmer starts practice.

 
NO athlete will be allowed to enter practice without a completed
online registration receipt and the submitting of the full payment
 or participating in payment plan option.
